Nothing To Be Proud Of...

Contributed by Blackheart on Sunday, 6th July 2014 @ 10:58:30 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My relationship with my older sister...
The improvement is a blessing
Thinking back to how I was messing,
Up senior year in high school and she was telling,
Me how I was right at the finish line
And I'm basically about to throw in the towel...
She kept reminding me of that
How right she was is what made me mad,
After a while I was frustated,
Told her I didn't want her at my graduation,
And out of spite
Outta spite of the truth that she was right...
Meanwhile,
Deep down,
I was unsure & afraid myself
Didn't think I was gonna see the day myself
I give her attitude, that's where I played myself
Catching up in Ms. Best class trying to save myself
Saw my report card...
THANK YOU GOD for this 65...
By the skin on my teeth I made it
That's why my head's low whenever I speak on graduating
Not proud of myself for that...
All the trouble I put my sister through at the time,
Deserves no pat on the back
