Here again,
This is all to familiar,
The coldness of it all,
It's far too similar,
It's hard to describe as it is all ive ever known,
I assume to others it would be described as feeling alone,
I've been here too long,
This place between my ears,
Dealing with the same plights,
The same goals and fears,
I leave once in awhile but I always return,
I believe once in awhile but I am always concerned,
This place was once a resting spot,
A place to chill,
Now it is almost like a prison,
As I now stay here against my will.

Yet another wonderful examination of Self. I enjoy your incite by capturing the way the mind becomes a prison...but, Dear Dreamer, forget not that you are the jailer as well. It is a conundrum I've explored in my own writing and as yet (and perhaps never will) fully come to a firm conclusion.
The important thing for you and I (and poets, of course) is that we continue to see, and ask, and question the place between our ears. We put in the content, we create the bars and we hold the keys to let ourselves out...at any time...a wish is all that is needed and wa-lah! We are free!
