~~ My Shrine ~~

Contributed by Jenni_K on Thursday, 3rd July 2014 @ 03:12:04 PM in AEST
Topic: hbadday

My guest room is now made into a shrine…
With keepsakes of happy times that once were mine.
Photos of every facet of my life....
Show times when I truly felt like a wife.

Now the future seems devoid of any love,
I search for answers from The Great Man above.
How could a love that once was so sweet
Turn into something from which to retreat?

In my thoughts I return to the time
When things were done with no reason or rhyme.
The past few years have turned you into a bore
All that’s left is to walk out the door!

I choose instead to weather the storm
Continue to live as if this was the norm.
The future now seems to be completely lost
For now I’m going to hang on to the past at all cost.

Lying alone in bed, eyes filled with tears
Recalling all those fun-filled years.
Knowing my future is as dark as the night
I now sit in my shrine and refuse to fight.

~~

oooo! this is so heartbreakingly sad! but shows your true
poetess self coming through, it must be ever so hard with
the amount of compassion and love you have
for others to be in such a place, it shows your strength
as a person and as a writer- able to express when in
pain in so eloquent a way, my heart goes out to you
dear friend, i am always here for you....

big hugs, love you, nessa

I feel for you, my friend. It WILL WILL get better!

It ALWAYS DOES. The heart is most resilient...you will see this.

I have found MANY times in my life when something bad goes down, that what follows is always better than what I lost,,,be it a job, a relationship, a car etc.

Stick in there!

Nice poem, by the way. Keep writing...very cathartic.

Invierno

Awe, Jenni, this makes me sad. :( (I had no idea)

How could a love that once was so sweet
Turn into something from which to retreat?

I used to ask myself that too after my second marriage failed. It can be quite perplexing.

Love the poem though. Life is poetry!

*huge hug*
