A Sweet Little Love Song

Contributed by codeofcohen on Thursday, 26th June 2014 @ 07:12:25 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Sing to me like a Nightingale
Sing your unique song
Sing a verse and keep it short
Then sing the chorus long

Sing like you're alone at home
Sing as soft as a dove
Sing to me while you undress
And sing while we make love

Sing to me a song which tells me I can be alone
In your heart
The only one
To sit upon the throne

Sing to me
Or cry awhile
Or sleep
And I'll sing a tune

Please sit with me
And drink some wine
Under the midnight moon

"Sing a verse and keep it short
Then sing the chorus long"
The implications of the line I like. All the substance and content are in the verses but the sweet part is the chorus. Though it lacks substance the blissfully ignorance and it's simplicity makes it the core of any song. Great line
