A Free Commodity

If love were a commodity arranged in stacks –
A rare good heavily taxed –
It would have been priced artificially high.
The demand would’ve exceeded the meagre supply
Until only the affluent would consume,
Subjecting others to melancholy and gloom.
But, rejoice, for such is not the decree.
Love is produced in every heart for free.
A contagious commodity, free to share;
The more it is supplied, the easier it’s prepared.
An innate substance that every soul perceives –
The heart’s equilibrium, love strives to achieve.

absolutely well put! the economy in it, wise wisdom almost inherent almost learned
yet not ever a trait
you know in the grocery store this morning I saw this older woman with a middle aged woman and the older woman had this very sad yet very heart felt real love in her eyes as the two hugged. I saw and felt love walking by the two of them. Love shows up in the balance of your writing.
Brilliant piece. Thank you - I'm glad to have read it!
Peace! |
