The Absence of Color

Contributed by BlackRoses00 on Tuesday, 20th May 2003 @ 09:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Upon the rocks, here I lay,
Away from the monster of Life.
Where waves crash without delay,
With nary a vessel in sight.

Here to lose myself in thought,
And escape Life which buries me,
In the dirt and grime through which I’ve sought,
Blinding me from what I should see.

There is no right nor wrong,
Your stupidity makes you think it.
To guide us through this dirge-like song,
A candle which has yet to be lit.

Hidden inside your world of light,
A light that leaves you blinded.
Blinded to the horror and the fright,
Of a world we are confined in.

Your hatred burns inside of me,
Too empty to hold your own.
A hatred that is rarely seen,
Yet reaps ten fold what sown.

Every time that it rains,
I wish you’re holding me.
But when the light wanes,
I can see what’s never meant to be.

A tear falls from my eye,
Into the endless ocean.
Brings an elemental storm nigh,
Based upon an empty notion.

The ocean’s endless bright deep,
Sparkle in your closed eye.
Yet open eyes weep,
Wallowing in the low tide.

As waves would rush the shore,
Only to subside unto itself.
Only a few to bore,
Little niches in poor health.

Sometimes to realize,
What you could always desire.
You must lose sight of a prize,
To let it perish in fire.

And there once were things,
So beautiful.
Yet condition of a touch brings,
So pitiful.

And as the sun begins to rise,
To pour out its light.
Retreat to the darkness to hide,
Yet with longing, view the lit oceans might.

-Joey-
