What has a person like me done to deserve someone like you ...
When everything in my life has been nothing more than cold and so cruel...
You are a hope I now have but one I have never known...
A light in the darkness that's inside me that I've come to call home...
This darkness so familiar, that in the light I have become lost...
What is this light I live in now and has come to me at what cost...
Uncharted territory... I put my feet on this terrain so new and profound...
I look into your eyes and see a world of possibility and in this I drown..
I drown in the fantasy of what could be in this new place I am in with you...
What could you see in me, why waste your time, Why are you are such a fool...
Unbefitting I am of this Love that you bestow upon a warped and broken person like me ....
For what you endure and sacrifice I know of this I'm not worthy....
Yet your commitment is strong and your nature ever so meek...
To think you came to me when it was nothing I seeked....
Broken, confused on a road to self destruction was the beaten path I traveled time and time again....
It took you to see who I was behind the smiles and you wanted to just be a friend...
Forces of Nature began to spin out of control and left us in a daze ....
But my mind could not comprehend this as real so I brushed it off as a phase....
Leaving me pushing away what for the first time in my life is so real...
But fight after fight, the war you found yourself in was more than you can deal...
Love the creature of strength that engulfs the mind body and soul...
the more we separated the more we found that with each other is when we are whole....
Right person wrong time was the poison of the life we cultivated ....
But with each passing day Love is what
kept us subjugated....
Submitting to each other and to that which is everyone's right ....
a chance be happy and for this we are
willing to fight....
The road we are on is a journey to our own promised land....
A Journey I will gladly take as long as I can take your hand...
Giving up, giving in is not an option we
have any longer....
For with each passing day what we feel for one another only gets stronger....
I don't have this figured out and no manual I have been given to follow....
But I do know what you have given me
I want for the rest of my tomorrows....
I can't promise I will get it right or that we going to figure it all out...
But if together we stand we will make it
of this I have no doubt...
Thank you for being who you are and
being my strength and my light....
Don't give up on me yet please
I promise to get it right....
