Fallible

Contributed by northernlights on Thursday, 5th June 2014 @ 09:07:53 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Systems of humanity fallible by definition,

Play with the minds

Of those who still hold a tiny grain of Hope. Lessons to be

Learnt from the Negative, from observing dysfunctional humanity

And the Resulting destruction.Eyes wide open to the anarchy of no

Boundaries, eyes tight shut to personal blindness, bulldozing

Personas of egocentric belief, ears tight shut to learned wisdom

And the cogs of machinery turn, pressure builds, a cooker ready

To explode and there lying in the aftermath hidden beneath the

Rubble, "The voice of reason undisturbed .......

Words of wisdom, indeed. Penned with considered intelligence and understanding of dysfunctional humanity. Liked the metaphor of the exploding cooker, and reason untouched in the resulting rubble.

This sort of reminded me of the Terminator stories.

That was a passing random thought.

On another thought, the voice of reason sometimes can be subjective...especially when dealing with crazy people. Perhaps their "voice of reason" is their reasoning and who to say, really, what is wrong or right. Who really is crazy and who really is sane? Is it all perspective? Is no one right, is everyone wrong? I babble.

However the above ramblings is proof that this poem provokes thought.

Thank you for provoking me, Anna. ;-)

Nicely done, yet again!, especially the last line which we should all take heed of.
I always find it ironic that we talk of humanity, yet so many treat others so inhumanely.
Keep writing

Steve

Hi Anna,

But will it be given a hearing? The voice of reason,
that is. The metaphors chosen for this thoughtful
piece are oh so relevant today, but imagine if
you had written this 70 years ago or so, would
they not also be relevant back then? Or even
say 70 years from now? Is the voice of Reason
destined to be permanently muffled?

As usual, much to think about in this fine piece.
