A drifting life at the edge of my fingers...

Contributed by gypsymaddness on Monday, 26th May 2014 @ 06:38:11 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

It's all right to let go right now

Let me flow away.

I can see no light in this deepening abyss

Seeming like time has left me today.

It is all just passing by

Like a tidal wave.

Never slowing, never relaxing

so I guess I just have to try to

ride the wave.

Where is this journey taking me?

It swept me off my feet.

And now I am floating away

thinking something might be directing me

the wrong way.

All I can see is the endless blue sea

the horizon looks so far away.

I reach out towards it

straining to touch the sinking sun

but all my fingers touch is the air

while my life continues on.

"Time" by Pink floyd. A song about this...sort of. "...Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown, waiting for someone or something to show you the way...//and then one day you find ten years got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun..."
That was the first thing that popped in my head while I read this.
This was a pleasure to read.
Thanks for sharing...

Best,

It made me reflect on life too, reading this.
As a child we have innocence and a curious mind.
As teenagers we have aspirations and dreams.
When we get older, we wonder where it all went and why it went so quickly.
You summed it up well.

Steve
