She was my life

Contributed by Aristotle on Tuesday, 20th May 2003 @ 01:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

As I look up into my wife’s eyes, I see my wife’s smile. My wife’s cold eyes try to bring me hope. My wife’s stale jokes force stagnant air from my lungs. I can hardly laugh, but attempt … attempt for my wife. My heart, still slowly beats for my wife. Though will stop beating for Her.

I loved Her.
Thump … Thump … Thump …

I recall when I first saw my wife. I walked down the hard moon-lit sidewalk. Other than the moon, no light shone down upon me. I turned left onto the street and suddenly I was bombarded by neon lights and flashing signs. The streets were bustling with people. Then I saw my wife. My wife walked towards me, wearing a bright red dress that sparkles from being hit with the fluorescent lights. My wife was so beautiful.

I loved Her.
Thump … Thump …

How frightening this is to me. I find myself in a white room. I again recall a cherished moment from my past. I stepped though a door and saw my wife. My wife was still as beautiful as ever. Soon my wife will bring Her into the world. We will no longer be a pair, alone in the eyes of God. After four hours, She entered the world. I held Her in my arms and smiled at Her. She was so beautiful.

I loved Her.
Thump …

I recognize this final event, for it was only yesterday. For the life of me, I did not see it coming. She was so happy, She was so beautiful, She smiled, She laughed, no one could foresee the deadly future. So young, so new to life, yet the pain was so real, to Her.

I look down, now in the present. I see the knife; I blink, inhale and plunge it deeper. The knife has become overused within the last two days. My blood mixes with Hers and soon we will be together again.

I love Her

The pain is clear in this piece. So full of sadness and heartache. May God be with you and yours during such a difficult time. The loss of a loved one be they big or small stays with us all for a long time.
