You know who your friends are-GROUP 1
You know me, you really do
When times are hard, I turn to you
My mentor, my saviour, my rock
I can count on you around the clock
They are always there for you
They put up with your quirks
They share in the good times and the bad
Years of knowing what will always be said
Familiar faces, errors of predictive texts
Transmission of growing unease
Without words of confirmation

Hi Pettles
You maid me think on this one and what to say. I have the utmost admiration for people who teach. Wish I felt that way at school LoL. Well back to the point. The first stanza rhymes well then you loose it a bit in the rest of the piece. I like poems that rhyme all the way through but that just me. However the message is strong and to the point. Kind of confirms that age old saying "you can't choose your family but you can choose your friends"
This is still a very nice piece of work. Trust you will do well in the evaluation of this piece. Good luck with all your studies.
Greetings
Rus |

texaschainsawpoets, by no means am I a poetry expert but I do have opinions. I think it would have worked better to either rhyme or not rhyme. Even though I don't believe in the rules of poetry, for me it seems it would have stayed rhythmic to either continue to rhyme...or opt to not rhyme at all. But hey, it's your poetry, not mine, so the bottom line is to write the way you want. It is yours so make it yours.
I did like the message the poem conveys. |
