The rebels and misfits
are the perfect ones.
The athletes and preps have nothing but each other.
Your world is collapsing at your feet.
Your head is in the clouds,
and your feet are six feet under,
but somehow you survive.
The heart pounds from the floor,
and the whispers echo in the silent walls.
Nothing even seems real anymore.
The earth it shakes,
and men fight with each other.
It’s total chaos,
and you are in amongst the war.
Just smile and nod,
like you don’t care.....
cause everyone out there is a poser in someway.
Even trying to be different is like someone else,
cause everyone wants to stand out.
Just being yourself isn’t good enough,
letting someone rule your life sucks.
What people do for simple life,
is more than I can understand.
Death, hate, pain and denial...
people suffer with it every day.
Just smile at the image, you see each morning
and thank God you were born this way.
Cause even He knows that
Reality Bites.

I guess the point your trying to make is that punks and rebles are a contradiction, rebeling against conformity is a form of conformity in itself. But really whats wrong with belonging to something. Freaks and other misfits need one another. They are persucuted by the majority. Forming together and belonging to something is safety. After you leave highschool you dont have to worry about preps and jocs kicking your ass or ruining your lunch, but you stay loyal to the tribe that helped you survive. I guess that being a rebel is really less about being compleatly different and more about being loyal.
