It doesn't matter what I wear
or what kind of car I drive.
It doesn't matter if I care
or if at times I cry.
It doesn't matter where I live
or what type of place I have
it doesn't matter if I believe
the way you choose or not
After all your way and your GOD
is the only perfect one after all(NOT)
It doesn't matter if I say I love you or not
it doesn't matter if I ask forgiveness
because you flat out just dont care.
It doesn't matter if I reach out
or need a hug or two
nope it just doesn't matter
not at all to one of you.
Now it is at the point
you dont really matter that much to me either.
Love can only be offered so long
without a response from any of you.

Grief causes many mixed emotions and sometimes you just have to let it all out to ffind true relief for yourself and the clear the way for the healing process. There are SO many things that people judge others for that have no bearing on who tthat person truly is. You have to live your life your way Dear. They do not walk in your shoes, NOR could they no matter how hard they try...
You know where I am if you need me my friend.

Give 'em hell, Michelle!
Sorry you're going through this but made for one hell of a poem. Love the sarcasm here:
After all your way and your GOD
is the only perfect one after all(NOT)
Your strength is showing!
*HUGE hug* |

Hi Shelby. I didn't sense a funeral aspect in this as pointed out in a few other comments, but, "it doesn't matter", does it? You've come to a plateau of realization, which is that it really DOESN'T matter. This knowledge is a fine basis upon which to build your 'heart house', and that is the place where it DOES matter....inside you. Your heart, your mind, your conscience, your perceptions, and ultimately translated; your actions.
You've explored, defined and written of what doesn't matter. As a poet, the next step is to define what DOES matter, and begin efforts to write about those things.
I hope to read more from you. Embrace the positive and let that light shine out the tiny point of a pen.
Blessings,
Invierno |

It's amazing how people can really feel like this and nobody seems to care or even understand. I am not much of a hugger but some people are and hearing your words left me feeling like I really needed one. I can relate and really understood your poem. Sometimes knowing we are not alone in the way we feel is key to letting go of those who don't deserve our time. I liked reflecting and absorbing myself in your poem.
You have a way with words that left me feeling what I read. I was sad but that's important for people to feel what your expressing. Grate Job.
