i walk this evening with Aristotle
and with those who came before and after
i am walking well in that man's shadow
i sense he watches from my rafter
i make ready for my simple sleep
i hold a cup and take a drink
i stretch to touch my toes again
then, as that man did ago, i sit and think
it feels fine to be in Aristotle's shadow
to be one to rest and contemplate
i do not now pose more of an interest
or any less, for the hour has now turned late...

Plato would say, hey Aristotle
and smile
I love your use of shadow in the context of your poem.
Simplicity is to be what one needs
always!
Your poem made me think.
Thanks!
Peace! |
