Can I be?

Can I be my truth in our evolving world where kingdoms
Give way to empires, who as with the sun rise with their time to
Bring their ways.I want to explore the medinas of your ways sometimes
With arms of embrace and at others retreating to familiar streets and bygone days.
My mind walks hand in hand with the world of Oxford and the minds that intrigue
Me,inspire me and I seek the peaceful hands that reach across cultural chasms
And know my evolving identity.I used to chase life but now I am in the skilful hands
Of the potter,Nature's moulding and I know that it is only with the calmer waters of experience,
That I see the peace of my father's eyes in reflection of my own and with the calm
In this world of questions, then can I smile.

I absolutely love where this went in those last few lines. That would make a father ever so happy (and proud) to hear!!!! I think it was so brilliant that the last couple of lines made me start to smile and the last word is smile. How very unique!

Hi Anna,
I think your wise words mean so much to so
many of us.
We have to live a bit to live a lot.
love a bit to love a lot, learn a bit to know a lot.
Ah well, that's life!
