Death From A Soldiers View

Contributed by waynster on Tuesday, 15th April 2014 @ 11:45:19 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

As I look inside
remnants of flesh is what I see
They did not have a chance
they did not die peacefully

Loyal to their country
to their beliefs that they had
It put them in this situation
from what I see was pretty bad

Not wanting to see
the things I saw that particular day
It put memories in my head
visions that just won’t go away

It may not be so bad for some
everyone’s strengths can differentiate
I guess I was not as mentally strong as others
it’s still something I contemplate

The tank was demolished
the foreign soldiers were turned to goo
They never saw it coming
there was nothing they could do

As I stood there looking
the smell made me sick
My stomach curled
my throat got real thick

Casualties of war
are not only physically wounded or dead
They are also soldiers with awful visions
which years later are still running through their head

We soldiers are trained to kill
expected to hide our emotions deep inside
When the war is over
ourselves and our emotions will eventually collide

war does not determine who is right, only who is left, it is good you are writing these things out, it is clear to all who read this you bear your heart and soul, may you ever have ink,

hugs n' love nessa

I can't nor won't elaborate however I can relate. Soldiers have a very daunting and hard job if one can call it a job. Good write my friend.

Greetings
Rus
