Tired and frustrated
wanting to share my pain
Of things building up
making me feel so insane
It’s been many years
since I was at war
I have been carrying emotions
that make me so sore
Poking at me
from the inside, they do
Wanting to let them out
and share them with you
Not so easy
I don’t understand why
It makes me feel alone
always wanting to cry
Trained in combat
hand and hand
I brought back with me sorrows
from war in the desert sand
There are so many
men just like me
Hiding their inner emotions
afraid to let you see
When the walls start to crumble
a weaker person you all will see
Our innocence was taken
when we joined the military

Heartwrenching. You don't have to be retired military to relate to the grief and sorrow of losing the child inside.
We are all fighting an uphill battle of some kind. If only we could hear your words every time we looked at a stranger..how much more forgiving the horizon would seem.
Keep reminding us.

to regret deeply is to live freshly; life is a flow
of spontaneous changes to resist creates
more sorrow, freedom is what you do with
what has been done to you,
hugs n' love nessa

As I am one of those u mention I give an applause and nod to this poem. This speaks to the heart of those who cannot speak for themselves. |
