It was a dark day for one man,
while all around him was light.
The man walked down the well lit rooms
while he himself seemed dark and grey.
He didn't want to be that way,
yet, seemingly,
circumstances had been responsible for
bringing great depression unto him.
He felt alone,
although the halls were crouded with hundreds of people.
But what good are hundreds of people
if not one of them is the one with whom you feel good around?
As this lowly figure continued walking the halls,
he can think of only one.
The one with which he can sometimes relate to or admire.
In his head he keeps hearing a beautiful voice that is
golden and angelic.
He sees the eyes, the lips, the face which is more valuable
than any Earthly material treasure.
The round face that stares at him in his mind.
He senses the poetic and inspirational atmosphere
of that other's mind in his own.
Oh, how he admires and respects the many diversities
and complexities that make this other such an interesting person.
Over and over again this man keeps thinking of this other
and how wonderful this other is.
He looks around the crowd and notices the
one in his mind is not there.
The man looks down and continues to walk.
Nobody seems to notice him and they'd act just the same
if he wasn't even there to begin with.
As people walk by, he lifts up his face,
which seems to be even darker and greyer than before.
His eyes open up with a slight moisture.
His dried up lips seperate in opposite ways ever so slowly.
Nobody else cares about anything happening or pertaining
to this man who stands there thinking.
Finally, the man speaks, and mutters slowly,
in a low volume, croaky voice,
"She's gone."
