Some Small Loss

I left the sunrise to the birds
kept under covers by small words
ignored the palette of the dawn,
the golden visage of the morn
slept through the warm midday sun
and all the work planned to be done,
turned my back to waning noon
til Sol acquiesced to moon
and Luna stole the last of light,
to hang in evening, fat and bright.
until hunger cried its demands
and aching muscles made commands
to cast my eyes at the door,
and place foot, finally, to floor.
but once again, she said
Come, make love to me instead
so, reluctantly, I stayed in bed.

Hi S,
''So, reluctantly, I stayed in bed.''
Yeah, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!
A nice little number. Enjoyed.
