DESPERATE ACCEPTANCE

i have the thirst of a drought wrought ocean
felt, as the emptiness of a great span
it seems i have emptiness as a new emotion
making me so desperate, as an emotion can
i have been riding this saddle to worn
it's leather gone fading into powder
i was meant for, from the time that i was born
to call out cry love, and then to cry louder
under a night list of heaven
i glance again a shooting star
my counting now has come to seven
but no wishes fall fulfilled thus far
in the back of my throat still lies that desert
that thirst for what may have never been
dryer now than that saddle's leather
Loss, is the name for this powerful djinn
oh, lay me by some cleansing river for a while
let my riding come to stand
let me drink the water to tempt a smile
then let me die on that river's sand...
