A Familiar Place

In a familiar place,
Finding myself last in a familiar race,
It's difficult not to make a familiar face,
My fake smile is almost perfect now,
Nobody even notices the fraud I am,
I've tricked everyone somehow
I've mastered the art of deception,
I am as nice as everyone else seems,
staring at my own reflection,
What does happy even mean?
Alone and lonely are two different things
Even when a bird is alone it somehow still sings,
As for me I have no chorus,
No ballad or song to bare,
It's not that I can't put the words together,
I just don't think anyone else would even care.

A familiar place indeed... I can feel the emotion reverberating from these words. Just don't quit! They're never easy to find, but someone cares. |

out of your sadness you have written a beautiful
poem, with great images and excellent lines,
alone and lonely are two different things,
yes, like being alone in a crowd; and no matter
what goes on in our lives- those stinkin' birds
always sing,
hugs n' love nessa |
