All Fighting For The Title

Contributed by lostrelic on Tuesday, 18th March 2014 @ 02:28:27 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Flickering confusion.
Controlled panic.
Lies devised on the screen.
Like a little bird calling for the sky to fall, we have amassed a world lost on time.

Born supremacy.
Roles given to those who accumulate the most paper.
While the frail gather the fallen coins of trickle back economics.

Like fine tasting wines that are more price then taste.
We have given to our needs while forgetting our faults.
Confusion, such a great year.
How much truth in a 30 second commercial.
Selling us things we don't need but shine so brightly in the hands of our peers.

I turned the tube on looking for a morsel of intellect.
To find myself hungry on tv dinners.
Scooping parts of my imagination on controlled realities.
Watching strong women fight for the affection of a man holding a rose.
Humanity a lashing board, equality still a work in progress.
Countries fighting over lines drawn in the sand.
Between unreality shows.

Life the greatest of gifts now a fashion show for those who like to flaunt it.
Soldiers fighting for some political puppet who sits comfortable behind a desk.
Words scorned, time adorned.
Panic at the dog show to raise their pedigree.

We welcome an age of reason with sinful responses.
Mocking the old, while blaming everyone but ourselves.
Change in the making, while not sparing any change.
News fabricated for the views.

We have forgotten to live within our means.
Our forefathers a bad example of take what you want.
Leaving noting but battles over lands that are never truly owned.
Price is high, as we drink to debt.
You only live once spewed on sweatshop sweaters.
To coin a phrase.

Will this all become Rome and fall before we can raise the tower.
Fighting on what definition of peace is better.
Sustainable illusions on unsustainable arguments.
Controlled populace divided to give a small number more space.

Can we not climb this hill together.
Bringing in knowledge without a hefty price tag.
Rich, poor, middle class all fighting for the title.
Our future is more then text book examples.
The west is only one part of the puzzle.
Without the gathering of the whole we will always be missing a substantial piece.
That makes the picture look right.

Take your hand and place it in another.
Gather our strengths to be the calming storm.
It is up to us to escape the excuses and do what's right.
To start it all over again.

We are more then our makers.
Forced institutions and shackled careers.
Our power is not hiding behind a mask.
Owned by corporate greed.
Our might is in each other.
Just a moment of trust away.

Let not love be the force that changes the world.
For anything forced is not love.
Love grows in time, we just need to see how much time we have let.
Before the next commercial...

You lead us artfully down a path to learn that "our might is in each other. Just a moment of trust away". I love the irony of your work, ("to coin a phrase") which is, in itself a commercial for what you believe.
Perhaps a small typo? "We are more THEN or THAN our makers?
Wall Street could take a lesson or two from your style! Well said!

My sentiments exactly, thanks for manifesting them. So many good points and questions. Try activistpost.com for some real news.
Best and keep it up!
