Mexico

Topic: NaturePoetry

White sand beaches;
barefoot heart;
Dusty roads the date palms part.

Popcorn clouds; Glassy bay;
Lead me where the dolphin play!

Rainbow shells between my toes;
Pink and black the moonlight rose.

Small cantina, candles bright;
Guitars and voices fill the night.

Cantar, cantar, los noches pass;
Brined tequilla, una mas!

Tides lap where the seagulls cry;
Salty, perfumed lullabye.
Lazy dawning, slow to sky,
Older, wiser, you than I.

Sunbrowned hands may intertwine;
As the bougainvilla vine.
Feel the hopes my heart is wishing;
In the solace of her Mission.

Peacefully my love is reaching;
Patiently this land is teaching;
Me the truths of long ago..
Lovely, lovely Mexico.
Take me with you when you go.

a lovely cadence to a set of images to make anyone swoon. I want to go now - you see what you've done?

brilliant, imagery of times long ago, mixed in your visit perhaps, why people stay, why they must go. You are a grrreat writer. "song, song, the nights pass, one more salted tequilla..."
Please!
You've crafted on with your own a voice that, habla con tanta gracia! que es musica para mis oidos
Peace!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
