Nature's Band

I stand high on cliffs edge
Below me the drumming of the waves
They crash in foamy brilliance
Music which my heart saves
Wind blows gently on my face
It rustles through my hair
A moving tranquil place
Removing all despair
The sound of the surf calls to me
As high above its chorus I stand
I feel ever closer to God
As I listen to natures band

Thank you for such a great little trip to hear the music!

Nature surely has the most beautiful instruments and sounds, if only we pause to listen...

I like this poem quite a bit. I am no expert, by any means, and I only mean well here, NoSaint. Perhaps there is a touch of forced rhyme here? (Waves, saves). To me (again, just my personal thoughts), I like the sound of 'Music which saves my heart' instead of"..which my heart saves'. The heart is not so much a digital recorder, but an absorber of empirical beauty that, in the absorption, saves and protects our psyche from the brutality of real life.
At the end, it was highly reminiscent of Emily Dickinson
"As high above its chorus I stand
I feel ever closer to God
As I listen to natures band'
Well done and I applaud the effort and am grateful for your sharing. |
