The river of the dead showers me with despair,
With my scythe in my hand,
I am always prepared,
The sounds of bone cracking as my hands grip tightly,
The form of my body is very unsightly,
The history of death is carved into the stone,
The dry cold bones stacked highly as my throne,
They were taken from the light,
And dragged into the dark,
There tombstones were labled,
Just left as a mark,
Humans are ignorant,
They can have faith in something,
But I know there is nothing good that book could ever bring,
They can have a heart,
They can have a soul,
It can be torn apart,
It can be sold,
So I stay in this place,
Because this is where I thrive,
Not a care in the world,
Glad not to be alive.

You are not in a grave- conventionally speaking. I recall a snippet from a poem I wrote so long ago I can't recall or find it to save my life.
All I remember of it is this: "These chains of air, were they but steel, would afford me greater hope; my hands, my feet tethered by the silliness of rope- I should be so unconcerned".
We live, and in our living, we accumulate a lifetime of errors...some are so great the weight is unbearable...I think we know the remedy for those that trod with loads such as those. A 'setting down' of stowage, so to speak- permanently.
The world is a creation of CARES..it is part of it- the experience of life itself. When you realize that there is value in the pain, (for how do we gauge pleasure if not by pains comparison?) then perhaps you can find some peace and value in your sorrow....by finding value, you can come to the first step of moving toward a less heavy heartbreaking load. I write this to you in hopes you live and this poem was not the last act- the laying down of pencil, the clicking of 'send' and the pull of a trigger. I pray not, for you.
