Bad Blood

Contributed by lostrelic on Friday, 28th February 2014 @ 12:14:29 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Can you hear me brother?

I failed for you.
I followed your advice, and slipped through the crack.
Screaming at a book just wanting to be free.

It hurts my heart to bleed so.
My mind a constant poem of sorrow.
Each word placed without regret.
To see the ripples of the coming tide.

I can call to arms the god you choose before any other.
This once mighty belief that you bent towards your own will.
You have given up on the sinners, a thimble full of me
He has done nothing but left me wondering why.
You have done nothing but shake your fist at those who are scorned.
Who follow roads not dictated by tyrants.
Not followed by you.

It is not the good times we seek.
Nothing at all.
It is the more then two roads of choices.
One foot in hell the other on my throat.
Not seeking the bad times.
Again nothing at all.
Only to see that choice was truly given.
Nothing forced, nothing at all.

I will one day make you remember those promises made.
That our lives will ignite the times.
That each opposite will repel.
When it comes down to the line at the end of the road.
I hope you are proud of the choices you made.
As I am of mine.
For I gave everything and you said it was nothing at all.
Nothing at all.

We can't always please others, and we also can't change anyone else. All we can do is keep working on ourselves and keep trying to do the next right thing.

Well said.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
