You took my life and never gave it back
You rid me of my innocence and then you laughed
You took pleasure in my pain
And small drops became rain
And many times, like a needle penetrating the chest; you taught me to suppress
The effects of the best of your wickedness…
Disney world to a child is but a far distant memory but I remember clearly the day you told me that what you were doing to me was ok
I liked the toys, the video games, the best friend forever handshakes but I didn’t like the rides I voluntarily and blindly went on…
As a child I was potty trained; I was doing great
Only to find out that four years later, I still made mistakes…
You ruined me,
You broke me,
If it was not for Him,
I would have been another statistic.
But I’m getting stronger now,
I’m learning to love again,
To trust with not so much expectation
Because I know as long as I live, man will fail me.
But there is One who never will;
Who knows my thoughts even before I express them.
He guides me by the hand and protects me from
Ravenous wolves.
I am a lamb and He is my Shepherd.
What you meant for evil,
He is making it good.
