It Feels Good to Heal Good

Contributed by b_rand on Tuesday, 25th February 2014 @ 08:47:21 PM in AEST
Topic: happypoetry

every now and then, i rise from the ashes
fixed like a phoenix, pride in my eye lashes
i’ve been walking with a new step, maybe call it a hop
i’ve got a few hurdles but unlikely to flop
this is my re-emergence, my escape from the uncertain
this is the next version of life, the bugs skirtin
i laughed today with giddiness and felt like a five-year-old
i smiled today wide enough to slide in a melon whole
this isn’t because of someone else, these are lessons learned
no one will ever give you contentment, only the few will earn
i’m twenty-eight today, i’ve been fighting fifteen years
i’m glad to say i’ve found a place to wipe away the tears
and now i will begin the journey, some just call it life
but free of fear and no weight down, things they seem so nice
