Streaks of raindrops painted upon the window,
Simple reminders of rain,
Now fallen to the ground below.
Like obscure emotions found within the souls,
Of lovers,
Drifting into place, filling the holes.
That just weeks ago burned with a flame,
Dark and cold,
More wild than tame.
While the remaining smoke billows,
Up, kissing the ceiling,
Their heads softly rest on plush pillows.
Fragments of daylight suspended,
Stretched across the room,
Dreams of loneliness have ended.
Streaks of tears painted upon the face,
Simple reminders of pain,
That will soon vanish without a trace.
