Don't you text

Contributed by unknown_utopia on Sunday, 23rd February 2014 @ 01:13:24 AM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

There is always something going wrong
between us
and you can't seem to let things go,
you seem to like it
when we fuss and fight
and that's not the way that we should be living the life.
You are coming on to strong
and I mean it
when I say
I don't want to do this anymore,
though I really love you babe
I need the pain to go away
so don't you be surprised
when you realize
you are on your own.

I'm off
see you later I'm gone
so don't you call
because I ain't talking about it no more...
you
you just wouldn't stop it
or let things go
you just kept going on and on
so
now I'm gone
and you're alone.

Don't you text....

there's a lot of context here
the slowness of text messaging
yet so much quicker then snail mail or even email
bank it, read it later, who knows when
all the missing pieces might come into
place.
It's very new school and abrupt
so often verbal spoken words
repeat themselves
like I suppose a leaky faucet
This is quite frank
a possible solitude that one needs
but not so much rehearse like actors might.
Goodness, this makes sense.
good jerb, as they say!

Peace!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
