I will never forget the night winter spoke to me. It clutched on to the idea of fairy-tales and gave me the satisfaction of confusion. I was inspired, I was torched and most of all I was blessed to find an ache that makes me seek more. I’m a lost puzzle of insecurities attached to my heritage, my clothes, my shoes and my faith. But one night, the winter spoke to me immersing me into a world that I wasn't aware existed; it was calm and breezing inside this lonesome body. The night we kissed I was naked and ready to give you the world. The night we kissed you were passionate about her. I could see it when you bite the corners of my lips that you were nibbling only on the vision of another woman. I’m not used to feeling like a stranger but there’s nothing I've ever been more certain of, when you kissed me my lips I savored everything I ever desired and I knew this was dangerous territory but I stepped on it anyways and so I landed heartbroken knowing this was coming, I stomped on it anyways. You looked me in my eyes and said that this was just a distraction of a drug, it wasn't real so don’t you expect more. When loving, I found out the hard way it’s easier to change how you love than unlove what you know you love so I did. I am a soldier and when I carry myself it is with uncertainty, but I stand on these heels with pride I can’t share and I bury our memory underneath these soles. I will never forget the night winter spoke to me. The moon was howling at this moment, wind warning me that this is foreign territory and I will never be to him what she is but I clutched on to the idea of fairy-tales. I was inspired, torched and most of all I was blessed to find an ache that makes me seek more in myself. I said one night the winter spoke to me about fairy-tales and love and it immersing me into a world I wasn't aware existed; it was calm and breezing. May be lonesome, but I’m not alone.

this is enchantingly exquisitely written... this is not a hardened soul of a warrior, it's a chilling reminder of imagination in the quiet cold.
This is really one of the best fluid writings I've read on this poetry board. It's really you uncovered and bare, I mean that... you brought something out here, BTW, just before I read it, not knowing what was in it, I was thinking about T.S Elliot --- not because of what I thought after, but then --- Elliot was a poet, not a soldier at all.
This is exceptional talent on display.
Born in winter myself I know it leaves many things bare... you've found a voice, continue to use it...said the private who could never take command of any season.
Thanks!
And yes, Peace! |
