Have you ever felt like a wound that will never heal
And the love you felt was never real
That starry night I saw God in your eyes
But Heaven was just words hiding lies
A moment of weakness and my wounds unhealed
You loved me so good my bones revealed
Pale light of the moon lit up the stars in he skies
As I mistook your love for beautiful lies.

Very true..we see what we want and expect to see.
How sadly you remind us that we have missed the truth in our unshakable certainty.
I love the line "you loved me so good my bones revealed". Loved to the marrow!
But my favorite is your last "I mistook your love for beautiful lies".
That about broke my heart.

I cannot even express to you how tragically beautiful and moving I found this. So much impact in so few words. Wow! Please keep it up- I hope to stumble upon more greatness.
