Some days I cannot find the conduit I need to withdraw the words that swell inside of me.
I search for every hidden memory, draw up every failed relationship.
I claw through the darkness, dredge up every dead dream.
I will do anything to expel from my soul the song that might sing the starlight, or the cry that might overshadow the sea.
Often, I am only granted the slightest of requitals, fashioning only the simplest of frames; the slivers of a vision my eyes can never see
Some days my spirit screams and pulls at the flesh that restrains it, and I am seized by it, and the words are all that appease it.
Tonight, I am unmoved.
Tonight, there is the snow; the disconsolate white of a season nearing its end.
Tonight, there is only the settling of a dusty page; the tattered spine of an old book coming to a close.
