A love for a drug

Contributed by firespinna on Friday, 24th January 2014 @ 12:19:20 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

It starts off just for fun
You are naive, careless
Aware of past influences and the dangers
Thinking... what harm can be done.

A remote control has a fast forward feature
Activated, you’re unaware of pressing that button
Boy...how fast time flies
You deny
You don’t learn
You are your own Ultimate being

Far and few indulgent times are before you
Conversations, deep and meaningful with others
Deep in thought you are in euphoria
Your free and punching the sky
That once shy person is out of the covers

Wanting that feeling more and more
Relying on living for the cause
Addicted to the people you find they are real
Real as a child’s fantasy
Nothing else matters your sober thoughts concealed.

You soon forget that high on life feeling
The dopamine is leaving
Your bathroom mirror never lies
Nor does the right to have sight
Those people’s wise eyes are open

They yell and scream
Friends and family
Whatever that means
The true souls from the day
Have not much more to say.

So the pipe has two holes
One to breathe from
And one to exceed
Death goes in
No problems no doubt
Reality is it’s more than that
You just can’t figure that out

So here I am
Addicted to methamphetamine
Whatever that means
I have accepted the truth
The pain I have now
And inflicted I have on others

Truth is about us addicts
Is that we don’t want to see the antics
We don’t care about the destruction
Just one more pipe... one more puff
And then I’ve had enough

For everyone more pipe you have
Is a mountain higher to look above
That journey to the top
Just got harder to knock over

Lashing out on cherished ones
Losing your mind losing control
All that inner strength you had
Is now at that summit you look above
Fighting begins now or wait not now...

Just one more puff...

Very nicely spoken. Hmmm... I really enjoyed it.. Maybe because your words read me, now, like a book... Straight up. Its a struggle, glad to know i'm not the only one going crazy [:
