Naked and Bare

There He lay, naked and bear
Crown of thorns upon His head
Heaven watches; tears ever-flowing
Above Him lie a plank that read "King of the Jews."
There He lay, naked and bare
Priests and scoffers mock Our Dear
Soldiers gambling for the last of His torn off clothes
From the cross He uttered "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."
There He lay, naked and bear
Embracing anguish, sin and despair
He turns to His Father for comfort and affirmation only to see that
His Holy and Just Father turned away.
Still determined to speak with His Father, He lifts His head up for one last glance
Only to be scorned and smitten by The Father.
In His darkest hour He cried out with a loud voice,
"Father, Father! Why hast thou forsaken me?"
In that hour, fully human, He requests for a drink.
Vinegar could not quench the momentary anguish yet eternal sorrow
Nor could it diminish the pain that was inflicted on our Shepherd and Messiah
Tears fell from His blood-filled eyes, weeping as was never heard before.
For seeing and knowing the hour had come for Him the God-Man to submit to death's authority
He looked towards His two followers that were present and said
"It is finished!"
It was about the ninth hour and darkness covered the Heavens and fell upon the earth.
He took His final breath and laid His head to rest...
The sounds of human nails grinding blood filled wood and ear piercing wailing covered the whole earth
As Our Savior, Our Best Friend, Our Shepherd died naked and bare...
