Smiling through the blue

Contributed by shelby on Thursday, 16th January 2014 @ 09:45:31 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I tried to fight it off
but today just was not the day.
Owning all the emotions
walking in the gray.

Heart a bit heavy
a couple tears or two
fight,fight it off
smiling through the blue.

I miss you little one
and that I cannot deny.
Today if I feel like it
I think I will just cry.

Winter sky all ugly
tonight the cold fog is rolling in.
Wrapping tight around me
suffocating my tiny grin.

The blue sky couldn't fight it off
the sun just didn't make it through.
The weather like my heart today
is feeling a chill of blue.

That is ok, I wont deny it now
healing has its way.
Sometimes you smile through the blue,
and days like today
you just dont.

A fine expression of how, on certain days, we just can't shake off our blues. 'A little grin' says it all. That's sometimes as far as we can get.

Wonderfully descriptive and intense.
You pulled me into the poem and I was soon lost in the fog too, but happy to remain there until the end.
Keep up the good work.

Steve

Hi Michelle, a wonderful write on the subject. We all have our down days, Luckily I can say they are dew and far between for me. I shall walk through this blue day with you, but one thing, no one Is ever blue for long when I'm around, sorry. Wouldn't It be something If we could just be happy all the time, we're human, that means this can never be, An excellent write Michelle.
