GOING HOME

Contributed by renee on Sunday, 18th May 2003 @ 11:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

IM GOING BACK TO THE COUNTRY
WHERE THE MORNING AIR IS FRESH
YOU CAN HEAR THE BIRDS SINGING
WITH EVERY LITTLE BREATH.

YOU CAN SMELL THE WILD FLOWERS
THERE BLOOMING EVERY WHERE
AND SO MANY BEAUTIFUL COLORS
YOU HEART CAN BARE.

WALKING DOWN THE COUNTRY ROAD
I SEE A BABY DEER AND AS I TURN AROUND HER MOMMY IS STANDING
THERE.

SHE GENTLY NUDGED HER BABY
THEY STARTED TO SLOWLY WALK
AWAY I JUST STOOD AND WATCHED
UNTIL THEY FADED AWAY.

THE CITY LIFE HAS BEEN GOOD
TO ME BUT A COUNTRY GIRL IS
WHAT I AM AND I AM READY TO GO
BACK HOME AND BUY ME SOME
COUNTRY LAND

THEY SAY YOU CAN TAKE THE GIRL
OUT OF THE COUNTRY BUT YOU CANT TAKE THE COUNTRY OUT OF THE GIRL
I GEUSS THIS IS TRUE CAUSE I AM LIVING
PROOF.

RENEE

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
