Chemical Rest

Contributed by softerware on Monday, 6th January 2014 @ 11:01:21 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

The booze, the cruise, the 12 o’clock news
TV dinners and mislaid shoes
Clothes in a heap; the body needs sleep
Odd woman out in a world of twos.

Las Vegas glasses; albums are dusty;
Bills on the counter; carpet is musty;

Pleasure’s too simple; work’s too hard;
Wallet’s too thin; thighs are like lard;
Turn the next card.

Hope comes at daybreak; there’s always tomorrow.
Sleep is the antidote; night is for sorrow.
How much can you borrow?

Make me a promise; tell me a lie; lovely white powder make me high.
It’s a turbulent affair; I come to you when no one’s there.
Show me a way, lead me astray; just don’t turn and walk away.

I’m the one who knows me best;
There’s me, and then there’s all the rest.
Love and comfort’s just a guest.
Chemical rest.

Crystal mystic; are we stoned? Tell me that I’m not alone. Take me home.

Siren promise, lift me up!
Mirrored dust of hate!
Suffocate this sorrow; manipulate my fate.
Razor clicking on the glass, I hear in you the sound
That hides behind a spoken word; the “truth” we think we’ve found.

What have we to make us wise? What have we but us?
Shall I be just a shimmer in the sparkling lumpy dust?
Inhale the lack of trust.

You nailed it there. You surely did. I went back for another read.
Balls or forever lost. Trust me.

reminds me of a kid I babysat when I was still a kid who group up and did things, and still does. He's smart, a top performer, but went off here and there around the world. A few years younger he is, Now I appreciate learning from him because he cares enough to share.
Off the beaten path, past the extreme please, past the ketchup perhaps... do learn, you show why. Superlative like very unique, escape these ism's define a few first. Dust of hate you know it is. Did my bit, quickly learned luckily how much a folly such a cheap thrill is, but oh, then there's the expanse behind it, the loss, all that loss. All that jazz, you don't need to suffer to know.
I'm enjoying all you've done so far.
Thanks again!
