A task Herculean the mind to clear,
The block to rid the writer’s fear
Turn the pages - low wages earn
Midnight oil and dinners burn
Family and friends do only desert
Home alone is poet chez garret
Abscond all the others to pub claret!
Off to publisher another script goes
Past sleepy heads the writer tiptoes
No respite in the Aegean stable
‘til written down is each fact and fable

'No respite in the Aegean stable'
Indeed! That said it all.
Solution?
'A task Herculean the mind to clear,'
Yes, agreed it is herculean or Olympian in a sense but the only way out and not just to cure writer's block but to generally to evolve. Well pointed out. |
