This New Year

Contributed by dvtpdw on Tuesday, 31st December 2013 @ 06:02:32 PM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

The white knuckle moment's close at hand
A miniscule bit that's been since time began
The joyous death of the year gone past
Brings forth the birth of time's new test

Faces look upward to see time tick down
Hands' clapping as the ball hits the ground
Whatever was in the year they now regret
Hope rides high the coming year will forget

Wishes yelled as horns trumpet the second
A New Year chimes as tomorrow's beckoned
Together we usher the old year to a final rest
May we all pledge to make the new our best

Happy New Year to one and all on earth
May this year bring you love's true worth
May you enjoy hope's incredible pleasure
May we all receive life's promised treasure
