~When winter talked~

Contributed by shelby on Tuesday, 31st December 2013 @ 12:46:13 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I heard her talk to me

harsh voiced

then soft whispers.

Her chatter made no sense

her mood cast a shadow

a shadow that stilled my heart.

I felt her, and I melted

turned inside out

then froze just like her

solid and crystal

turned gray-blue

then melted again

into a reflective puddle.

The wind blew

and caused the reflection to ripple

and I could see,

moments of calm before the storms

mood cast,shadows falling

daylight fading into night.

It is in the stillness of the eve

blue-black conversation

just above a wind whisper

silenced the heart for a moment

and I spoke

when winter talked.

Wow! Every colour, feeling, physical aspect of Winter was personified, brought to life...a very elemental feel to it....the gods of nature coming to the forefront. Excellent write.

And the ending conveying that Winter has hegemony with its legions and allies.

It is in the stillness of the eve
blue-black conversation
just above a wind whisper
silenced the heart for a moment
and I spoke
when winter talked.

I felt a sense of hush there. Nice.
