From violets to sunshine, the bruises will heal
But I'll never recover what insanity steals
A whim--such a folly with nothing to gain
Besides a fistful of flowers to plant on my grave
You spat out the poison I had lodged in your heart
Turning rigid with fury when I tried to depart
I beckoned you dance while my face was on fire
Til I was just smoldering coals left out to die here
Now with flames turned to flowers, and flowers draw tears
I regret the dead life I've maintained through these years
You said I was guilty, but the guilt was not mine
Just another excuse to redeem every line
My tears were not worthy to fall on your chest
So they fell on my pillow til I wept into rest
And deep in my sleep when the monsters roam free
I see all the hatred that you've planted in me

Oy! We all get chances and blow them away if we're not ready or not in a good place, eh? Varied emotions in this: self-pity, regret, anger. If it's a true story, I hope you find healing.
Blessings and Merry Christmas, S. |

Love the way you portray your pain and regret. weed out the hatred others plant. I must do this soon. it isn't going to be easy. I am glad you gave me the opportunity to read this. |
