As I Look At Her

Contributed by waynster on Tuesday, 24th December 2013 @ 08:53:59 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My mother is no stranger
but yet a stranger she seems to be
As I sit and look at her
and she looks back at me

As I speak to her she stares at me
wondering what it is that I say
I can’t imagine living her life now
that she lives each and every day

I love my mother
with all the love in my heart
It hurts to see her the way she is
tears swell in my eyes as I realize this world she soon will part

We all get older
and eventually we all will die
Pardon me for a moment
I need to wipe a tear from my eye

It burdens my heart
to see my mother in her state of mind
So difficult to see her like this
in my head I search for many good memories to find

Dear mother I love you
but sadness overwhelms my sense of joy
Just know I am by your side
the one who used to be your blond haired little boy

I know you can’t hear me
but you still see me with your eyes
You know who I am
each and every time we say our hellos and goodbye’s

Mom, I am so sorry
you are where you are
You have always been my number one
always my shining star

If you love someone, let them know before it’s too late!

I went through something very similar with my Mom a few years ago. I know the pain. I know the difficulties. I am sorry that you're going through this. I know it is not easy.

Takes courage to post this. Well written and full of emotion.

Wish there was something magical I could say to take the pain away but alas, I can't. Just know you're not alone.

Hang in there and best wishes to you and family.

Tim

It is never easy...whether someone is taken before they live their life or if they can't remember living it. My heart goes out to you.

My mother is starting down this road and I already know a little of the pain. Thank-you for sharing your pain it brings a light to those of us who are going through a similar difficult time.
