I got Stabbed Today

Contributed by waynster on Monday, 23rd December 2013 @ 02:44:15 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I got stabbed today
with a knife made of words
My thoughts started running wild
like cattle by the herds

Another holiday season upon us
yet I have done nothing right once again
I am supposed to be happy
and go visit all my kin

Special days are upon us
a time to rejoice and be happy in all what we do
It is not a time of negativity
and to be stabbed by hurting words from you

Why do I get so many mixed emotions
from a person who hates me so
If you can’t change the way you see me
then you need to turn around and go

I know somehow you can’t see it
being blind to who I really am
You have built huge walls
that hold your feelings and tears like a dam

I know you can’t see it
a love I have for you inside
Those walls you have built between us
create a very big divide

Christmas is not about receiving
I am not upset for not getting a gift from you
You are very angry with me though
giving you a gift is something I didn’t do

Times are hard
you separate us more and more every day
I don’t have a gift, but I love you
I don’t know what else to say

Your words are sharp
as you share them with me on this day
I still wish you a Merry Christmas
it’s all I have to say

Very sad but nicely written. I hope you can change this person's perception of you. It's nice that you still wished this person a Merry Christmas. That should hopefully mean something.

I hope you have a great Christmas and be blessed in the coming new year and always.

Tim

When someone you trust hurts you, the cut goes deep. Sometimes you can hide it from the world, but it's still there inside.

I can relate - good write.

This is a very sad but lovely poem,
We hope the people we love will see the hurt they make us feel
When we stop taking their crap things may change, we have to decide to walk away, or just write about it to give us a little relief
It's easy to tell someone to walk away. When your not walking in their shoes. I hope it works out for you..whatever you decide
Always know you deserve better
