Another one of those festive surface days
Surrounded by smiles as we pretend to be heroes
Blasting music about sex, parties and drugs with praise
A crowd of fancy colours, fancy brands, like we are in music videos
Snap recording on cellphone with no privacy
Lavishing in the bountiful fruits of society
We all want to look good in our next photo file
So remove the frown and plaster on that plastic smile
Indulgent and mannequin-like, like naked empresses
Nakedly sharing all of ourselves online in floods of excesses

You are seriously one of my new favorite poets. Everything you write is relevant and on point. Sadly most of the people you are addressing in your poetry will never know what you are talking about. As long as they get their fast food and entertainment they will die oblivious, ignorant, and happy. Its that entitled American syndrome |
