The Lioness

Bemused by the sudden change
The Lioness looks upon her chains.
Perplexed in the distance
Unattended Cubs search for significance.
"Where Art Thou?" howls her once dwelling.
As does foretelling Fate.
Natural Law soon makes its move
Upon The Innocent strikes irrational End.
Miles away lies The Mom
Inside a cage, mindful of none.
Elegance stripped along with offspring
The foreigners come often.
Pays no mind of this The Mother.
Lives a shallow Life of confinement.
Melancholy until The End.
