an end of me

Contributed by pam on Monday, 5th August 2002 @ 12:44:30 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

This tiredness...
I'm growing dreary
of the weeping world
and her problems
I am not a being of disbelief
only a known victim of conformity
I'm further from the sea than ever
yet my mind still wanders
upon the rolling tides endlessly
this summer closes upon me
yet my readiness
Is still not ready
I see only two options
That in which I get what I want
or the other - my death
I am starved amongst
the young world
of instant flesh for money
and I am reminded that
nothing is for free
yet happiness
between two souls
can immensely bring us out of
our suffocating realm but
only for a few brief moments
and once again we are
let down for the count
and in the end
there are those that
move on and exceed
and there are those of us
that become this much needed
tainted part of the world
for everyone
to frown upon in disgust

Everyone is special, and everyone is beautiful, and it's those who frown upon the world that need the most love... because those are the people who have never known true emotion. They are too bottled up in their world of money and fast satisfaction that they never take time to smell the roses... I can see these people in my head as I read this... someday the people who know real emotion will be out of their suffocating realms of this earth... and those who stick their noses so far up in the air that they might drown if it rained will be the ones suffocating... it'll happen... just wait and see... great write.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
