Unprepared

Contributed by Jyssvw22 on Tuesday, 26th November 2013 @ 12:20:09 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Indisputably broken
I come for acceptance
Absolve of me of sins
Return me to innocence
Grant me reprieve
Excuse my insolence
I am on my knees
I bare no witness
A crime committed
Life stolen
Unquestionably broken
Lost among the forlorn and hopeless

Many days have passed
Since the last time I saw your face
Beginnings that began so intense
Dwindled to a lonely end
A somber pace
In my regrets
I search for a better self
With pain as my only friend
An eerie peace breathes new life
At ease now
Submerged beneath the light

Bestow on me a privilege
To enjoy natures mistress
With a rush of wind
Comes self forgiveness
With a touch of truth
I step forward

I'm digging this one. It makes me think of coming back to a place or situation that once felt safe/good. Perhaps too much has happened to go back to "the way it was", but a new foundation can always be built. Anything can get better, and the first step is getting honest and taking that first step forward... As you so aptly put it :)
