Festering, flinching in my head,
Looking,
Searching for the right words to say and I cant think of any,
So I just look at you,
I’m wasted and wary,
I fumble around in my pockets and I’m moving swiftly,
Dodging the light of a thousand streetlights.
Its late,
the sky is so dense with thick black clouds,
thickening over the orange glow emanating from the streets.
I rip out a burnished gold clutch chain,
Stroking it through my hands anxiously waiting for you to move towards me.
I’m waiting,
There’s nothing,
I'm waiting and there’s nothing.
You don’t move.
You smile.
A sharp knowing ache in my chest forces me to gag.
You couldn’t?
You wouldn’t?
A thick trail of powder pours from your hand,
Falls to the floor,
Melting into the pathway,
I drop to my knees,
I slam my head on the ground,
Licking the filth off the ground,
Shards of glass rip at my tongue,
I’m bleeding,
My mouth is bleeding,
The liquid turns red,
The taste is rust.
Kick,
A kick is aimed squarely at my head,
I see metal in your hand,
Razor-sharp pain stuns.
Black.
The sun hurts my eyes.
Limbs of lead keep my abdomen glued to the street.
My clothes ripped and thick with blood,
But I was naked and alone.
