The same news as yesterday.

Contributed by lostrelic on Saturday, 16th November 2013 @ 11:22:25 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I read in the news today, the same lies of yesterday.
Speaking of freedom and the killing of wars.
Our boots are on the ground.
Our hearts are seldom found.
Fighting over beliefs and rights.

Are we not all just humanity?
Seeking understanding in misguided reality.
trying to keep our hearts from being found..

Can we not all agree, that we are not really free.
Our planet pays the price for our strife.
The hands that be, are crushing as much as our voices can be.
Pushing us down, to be higher then you or me.
When in truth it is us who holds the power, you see?

For tomorrow may come.
And wars are seldom won.
It is the price of the people that is spent.

If we could all agree.
That we are better united under the trees.
The same sun touches all of us in time.

If we hold back now, our voices will never be found.
Our hearts will grow hard as the ground.
So let it be love, that gathers us all.
Let the oppression of human rights fall.
Find truth in our minds.
And together in time.
We will all have the right to be free.

Your song reads truer than any current news blip,
another couple GI's killed, a young kid in our city streets shot by a policeman by accident,
the price for health insurance, a crippling sense nothing goods to come from it all. All the price tags, for war, for lack of standing up to what is right, all the force fed media, that continually lies...
You're so right on with this message. It really truly describes what we all need - I think the truth in what you say is obvious. People do know when they do something wrong, they know it automatically. Even little children do.
We've become accustomed to being apathetic to the cynicism, we see its sense, while all-to-well knowing its warts.
Even small children know this...
I like this very much and all I can say is - me too!

Thanks!
Peace!
